Afghanistan

I don’t want to die,
I want to survive,
I want to grow old – go grey
                                          and wrinkled,
 see my children grow up…
Have my children.

That is how women feel in Afghanistan feel,

That they cannot walk down the street without the fear
They may be a bomb hidden,
A sniper on the roof,
Someone with a machine gun.

How lucky I am to live and love in safety,
Why can’t all the world live like us,
In safety! In peace! In happiness!

Why can’t they be left alone?
